About the Coalition

Influenced by the post-modern comedy of Spaced, the political satire of Bremner, Bird, and Fortune, and the anarchic slapstick of The Young Ones, The Coalition is part film, part theatre, and all kinds of fun. Andy is a failed serial monogamist who stumbles into a brilliant plan—move in with his rich and spoiled friend Tom, whose father is a multi-millionaire waste manager, and get Tom to pay the bills. Tom’s dad has promised to provide for him until Tom gets a job, which is why Tom’s mission in life is to fail at every job interview he’s forced to attend. Not trusting Tom, Andy gets another flatmate over the Internet—an American known only as the Yank. Each thirty minute episode revolves around the boys attempt to survive the harsh realities of life in modern Britain, including finding and losing jobs and girlfriends, strange customs and customs officers, the difficulties of finding a decent cup of coffee, and the hassles of getting guns overseas.

Multimedia

Each episode of the Coalition comes complete with a filmed sit-com style opening, end credits, and filmed trailers for future episodes that are primarily spoofs of current television and film. From the epic adventure of “The Coalition of the Rings”, to the supernatural superpowers in “Coalition of Heroes”, these segments help to break up the stage show as well as provide a unique viewing experience.

The Future of the Coalition

The Coalition is currently booking for it’s first U.K. Tour on the back of sell out shows and great reviews at the Norwich Playhouse. In addition, Axis of Evil is working with fledgling production company Wilde Productions to develop the touring episodes for BBC television. The Coalition is also establishing an internet presence, check out some of our videos.
